The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is an IRS approved 501(c)(19) not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.

This is the website for the John R. Cacioppo Post 1848 in Medford, NY. We support our local community by organizing the Medford Memorial Day Parade,and various Veterans events throughout our neighborhood. In addition we conduct food drives and fund raisers to assist veterans and their families.

If you are a veteran you are welcome to attend our meetings which are held on the first Thursday of each month. Please check the events calendar for details and changes.
